  • Students
to apply to America’s top universities. The MIMS Institute serves as a champion of public education and promotes academic excellence in urban zip codes by:
  • Distributing the US News List of America’s Top 50 National Universities to minority students
  • Maintaining a routine presence from the black community at School Board meetings
  • Hosting fellowships for students and parents
  • Fishing for potential black applicants to America’s top national universities
  • Encouraging black students with strong reading skills to graduate with multiple (6 or more) college-level, Advanced Placement classes
  • Gathering achievement data and reshapes it to reflect participation rates of students in targeted key urban Zip Codes

Our vision is that our parents and students will live in a zip code where leaders routinely discuss indicators of academic excellence regarding minority students.

    Mr. Mims,
We recently met at the mentors meeting about one month ago. I coach the North Tampa Wolves and I would like to offer a few players that may benefit from your services. I have acouple of players and my son. Right now my son is in the 6th grade but if you could guide us in a few things to look out for his future education.

    Thanks Coach Maye 813-562-5889
